One of those days. You know one of those when it feels like you can’t catch a break. When you are overwhelmed or sad or feeling like you are about to break. Those are the days when I reach for proof that there is good coming to me that I cannot see.

My dogs are my proof. My crazy, silly proof existed before I knew I was getting either dog.

My beautiful cat Maya was so territorial that I couldn’t even keep the starving cat Landfill Lucy that I had rescued. I was extra disappointed because I had just bought a house so I could have a dog of my own. Finally.

One day my sister brought her puppy to my house, and it turns out Maya liked puppies. Yay! I soon brought Angie (right in photo) home. She existed before I even knew I was getting a dog.

Same with Lucas (left). I called an excellent breeder to get on the waiting list, which normally meant a one to two-year wait. Twelve-week old happy-go-lucky Lucas, due to special circumstances, was mine in less than a week.

Know that something amazing is forming for you right now. Hold on. That job opening is being created. That loving partner is getting their life in order. That answer to your question. That client with the interesting, well-paying project. That friend who listens so well. That surprise that is going to make you laugh and laugh.

Look for proof in your own life. What amazing things have happened to you and they were on their way long before you knew about them? Focus on that, and know great things are on their way to you now.

More great words of advice, Catherine. I know there have been lots of times in my life that I have had trouble seeing light at the end of the tunnel. But then, when things turn around, it would be wise to look back on the time when things were a little more bleak, and recognize that the better days were in the making long before I realized it.

I love how things come together. I wrote this post a few days ago. This morning I really need to read it myself 🙂

A great post. Dogs are great at the unconditional love, huh?

Thanks. Yes, the dogs give more to me than I could ever do for them. 🙂

i was watching the news this morning and Hoda Kotb was on promoting her book Ten Years Later. I was about how when you are going through tough times, you can’t imagine how you are going to get through the next 10 days, let alone the next ten years. The book focuses on the lives of 6 or so people and how they overcame whatever event worried them over the course of 10years.
