Yesterday I was at an event, and someone recognized my name because they had subscribed to my blog. Last week I received a few emails from social networking contacts saying that really liked my writing.

I wrote my first book at 27, and it’s been… ahem… a few years since then. I’ve got to tell you. That feeling of knowing you have touched someone else’s life never gets old. The excitement is second only to the joy of actually writing.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Thank you so much for letting me know that what I write resonates with you or lifts you up or helps you on the job as a trainer.

A sincere thank you can boost someone up and make their day. Someone in your life has helped you perhaps years ago or is supporting your work now. Who will you thank today? Raise them up. Pass it on.

Its such a nice feeling and thank yous cost nothing. So much nicer than the all too often thrown out criticism. I was verbally attacked yet again this week (water off a ducks back!) It set me thinking how much nicer it would be if that guy had said something nice. He clearly never got praised as a child or thanked for anything he did. I thanked him for his email and politely commented that I had noted the contents! (noted and filed in the need to help that guy sometime draw!) Thanks yous cost nothing and neither so smiles but what a difference they make to the world.

My mom always said “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all,” and I teach this to my kids, too. Thank you for this reminder–great post!

Thanks for the reminder to share our thankfulness. It truly is a nice feeling to know all your work isn’t for nothing. 🙂

We often forget the immense value our appreciation has on others.

“Raise them up. Pass it on”

    Yes!!….I will!

I love the idea of paying it forward. We never know what someone else is facing and how much a sincere thank you can help.
