Get ’em Working!

Whether you think of corporate workshops or train the trainer experiences, the same principles for adults apply, and one of the most important is interactive, hands-on learning.

If you don’t have time to redesign your workshop or course, take some time to flip a couple of your lectures into activities…

That talk on best practices quickly becomes a true or false exercise with questions posted around the room. That lecture on how to navigate through the software becomes small groups reading the material and teaching the class their section. You can top up any errors or omissions. A classroom discussion becomes a series of questions that participants answer on flip chart paper around the room.

We refer to the class as learners or participants or colleagues for a reason. They have so much to offer to the group. Let them, and watch the learning experience open up.

How can you flip that lecture and leave it behind in your next training?
