Courageous Change

What’s your next big scary step?

courageous changeThis week nearly 50 engineering, human resources, training, sales, and other professionals from all over the world graduated from the MBA program at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John.

I am proud to have played a small part in their development as one of their instructors.

These MBA graduates came from Armenia, Jamaica, Jordan, Taiwan, Nigeria, Vietnam, and more. They adjusted to our city’s chilling winter temperatures and warm hospitality in what was their second. third, or even fifth language of English. They completed a two-year master’s degree in a strange country in only one year. Some brought their children while others were parted from all their loved ones — young and old — at home.

Now I ask myself… what big scary step am I willing to take to grow?courageous change

When we see others make courageous change, it inspires us to look beyond the I can’t attitude to move into I can.

What is your courageous change? Make that phone call. Give that feedback. Accept that feedback and begin to change. What is your big scary next step this week?

A very important question you raised. People of especially middle age are afraid of change, and young people are more daring.
Did you in your life make a scary step that changed your life? 🙂
