They’re Talking About Me Now

So Be Authentic

In the past year, I have lost over a foot of hair and let my lovely locks grow au naturel.

Why am I writing about my short, silver hair?

Because people are talking about me anyway so I may as well do as I like.

authenticI’ve had lots of compliments (thank you! like those!) And some comments about the way I used to have beautiful curls (as if I can now grow back at least 3 years of curls to “fix” my hair). Other thoughts about how (insert pause and a cringey face) my hair is grey now, or I need to colour it. (LOL, like I went through a year of letting the silver grow to ever do that again.)

And I don’t give a flying ahem.

I love my new look. I love that I’ve chosen some more relaxed pictures of me for my social media and website moving forward. I love that I’m growing and working with new subcontractors and new clients. I like new. I like growth. I like change. I like having choices.

authenticMy husband and I had a conversation last night about how people are going to talk about our decisions anyway, so please yourself.

What will your neighbours / coworkers / friends / family think?

Who cares!

Start a business. Apply for a job. Stay home to look after your children. Go back to work. Say no. Say yes. Try something new. Apply for a promotion. As long as it’s legal, go for it!  Your only job is to be authentic, and be you! You can do this. I believe in you. It’s YOUR time. Believe in your own ability to make GREAT decisions.

Now jump!!!

A big thank you to Curl Specialist Krista Leavitt for having the courage to keep chopping my hair as I requested and to photographer Kelly Lawson for the rockin’ images.
